God has created each of us by extending His Spirit into our beings. We continue God’s ongoing act of creating and renewing the world by extending our gifts, our abilities, our creativity, and our light into the world. It is in offering ourselves in service to others and the world that we strengthen our love, give meaning to our faith, and fulfill God’s purpose for our lives.
WHY DO WE STRIVE TO BE A “CONGREGATION OF MINISTERS”?
- Not because we are saints, but because we are servants.
- Because Jesus wrapped a towel around his waist, bent down, and washed his disciples’ feet–and told his disciples they should love one another as he loved them.
- Because there is no person, no gift, no atom that God has made that does not have a gift to share and a part to play in God’s unfolding plan.
- Because God has created us by extending His Spirit into our beings. We continue God’s ongoing act of creating and renewing the world by extending our gifts, our abilities, our creativity, and our light into the world.
- Because it is in offering ourselves in service to others and the world that we discover our gifts, strengthen our love, give meaning to our faith, and fulfill God’s purpose for our lives.
